The greatest initiation

The greatest initiation is neither marriage,

nor any life celebration.

When joy is shattered,

peace disturbed

and love betrayed,

immense pain

and extreme distortion

become alive.

When reality is twisted

integrity failed

and justice abandoned,

a deep wound

and the sharpest mourning

become present.

When one chooses to observe

instead of possess

the life and choice of another,

and out of respect for their free-will,

allows them to be

no matter how harmful

or how destructive

their way may be,

this is unconditional love.

Because this one chooses love over control and fear.

Because this one chooses freedom over possession and lies.

And because this one respects the other's path of learning,

even if this means their own loss in life and love.

For the greatest initiation in life

where what was loved the most is stolen

and what was dreamed for is being manipulated,

one is called to keep their heart open

and loose everything they ever wished for

with a pain in the heart, so intense and unbearable.

In that open heart that hurts deeply

the biggest lessons in life are being learnt,

the highest values are being seeded

and the biggest accomplishments are being fulfilled

for once and for all,

for life.

There is no bigger initiation

than knowing the truth alone

and allowing life to unfold,

while letting go of one's dreams

and surrendering to the unknown.

This is the only initiation

that allows truth to be

and keeps the heart open

for greater love,

for higher wisdom,

for deeper awakening.

This is the initiation of deep pain and deeper trust in love.

This is the greater initiation.

Everything you seek, lies within your Self.
