A Day in My Life (Mother Edition)

Dear Souls,

In this article I share with you “a day in my life" during Motherhood, hoping that this will inspire you and give you ideas on how you can possibly form or adjust aspects in your everyday life and make your life more potent for your benefit and the wellbeing of your family.

A day in my life while mothering a little one includes several aspects that I have chosen for my highest good in order to feel well, be well and function well. A day in my life it's never the same during motherhood as the control I used to have before in my day-to-day choices was different. Nevertheless I try my best to be flexible, accept that things can never be perfect but very often messy and make choices that will provide a loving container for myself and my family as a whole.

So what a day in my life looks like nowadays:

1. The first thing I do in the morning after I wake up is to breastfeed my daughter and while I do that I also pray, visualize my day and connect with the Creator, asking for guidance and placing the intention to deliver his will through my thoughts, words and actions.

2. Then I proceed to the bathroom and I practice my cleansing yogic routine for teeth, tongue and nose. I don't always have the time to do all the cleansing routine but that's totally fine.

3. Then I go in the kitchen and I drink a big glass of pure filtered water. At the same time I prepare a hot cup of herbal tea or I boil water for my medicinal drink which I take a bit later.

4. Then I do my yoga practice which consists of core, strength and balance practices mostly, with some Pranayama and visualization practices. Or I go outdoors in nature for a long walk under the morning sun.

5. I come back home and I prepare my medicinal drink which contains hot water, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, black pepper, cinnamon, freshly squeezed lemon, apple cider vinegar and raw honey.

6. Then I have a shower and I go to the kitchen to prepare my breakfast, always rich in protein/fat/fiber.

7. After breakfast I do some admin work, social media, emails, writing, studying and see a few clients for healing or coaching sessions.

8. On midday I prepare and eat lunch.

9. Then I take a small walk to digest or a good rest by lying down at my left side while consciously breathing. If possible I also expose myself under the Sun for at least 20 minutes.

10. In the early afternoon I pick up my daughter from school.

11. I spend the whole afternoon with her creating and making activities like dance, art, crafts, pretend play, gardening, bicycling, nature walks, outings, cooking, baking and so much more.

12. In the late afternoon we return home, cook and eat dinner, have a shower and play with our wooden toys. Then we go through our night routine which is reading books, breastfeeding, singing or listening to lullabies and putting my little one to sleep.

13. After my daughter sleeps I take a few hours for myself to unwind and relax before I sleep. I might also try to finish a few things that I haven't managed to finish during the morning and prepare her lunch-box for school. Then I do some healing for me, I read a book, I journal and I plan for the next day.

14. Finally, before sleeping, I do some stretching, then deep breathing and meditation till I fall asleep.

*During the weekends I spend more time in nature while organizing excursions, activities and social gatherings. As a mother the weekends are more tiring for me than the weekdays, totally the opposite than how it was before becoming a mother.

Thank you for reading, and remember that everything you seek lies within your Self.

Heart to Heart,

Christina
