Christina Georgiou Performance

Performing PA

Christina Georgiou has a background in the visual arts as a performance artist. She completed an undergraduate degree BA (Hons) Fine Arts at Kingston University London, and a postgraduate degree MA Live Art & Performance Studies at the Theatre Academy - University of the Arts Helsinki. She has presented her work worldwide at different festivals, biennials and international conferences. Her performance "Eternal Return" received a Special Prize at the Arte Laguna Prize Italy, in 2011. Christina occasionally accepts invitations to perform or create new performance art commissions.

Curating PA

Christina Georgiou has years of experience as a curator in the field of site-specific visual and performance art. She completed studies on Creative Writing and Innovative Approaches to Curating at the Node Center Berlin and she founded the Cyprus International Performance Art Festival - CIPAF, the 1st international performance art initiative in her country, where she organized, produced and curated the work of internationally acclaimed artists while publishing reviews about their work. CIPAF was recognized with the EFFE Label 2015-2016 as one of the finest festivals in Europe.

Christina Georgiou has led workshops and masterclasses for established and emerging artists and she has organized studies and educational programs within several contexts while presenting lectures and artist's talks for Organizations, Institutions, Universities and Schools. The programs she offers hold her unique signature and they are an integrative practice, especially designed for artists and not only, that offers a comprehensive approach to authenticity and how creative minds can draw inspiration from within themselves, while communicating their unique embodied expression to the audience.
